![]() Seriously underestimating his opponents have landed him in serious bother.Īfter all this, I'm still none the wiser! Even in a straight up fight: Angelus would be better equipped to get under Spike's skin emotionally, however Spike would fight to kill while Angelus might be too busy mwa ha haing. Related to the first point, sometimes Angelus just needs to take it and run. SoullessSam was a (very sassy) amoral pragmatist who lacked empathy and had a very limited and diluted emotional range, but he consistently tried to do what he thought (or was told) was right. It's also used to be hotly debated whether or not he could have finished off Buffy in "Becoming Part 2". When you think about it, he could have killed Holtz, Buffy and Faith if he really wanted to, but nope! He has to be too evil. You see, this is also a minus because with all his moustache twirling, he often allowed his enemies to get the upper hand. ![]() Unlike Spike, he sold Darla without a second thought. What makes him extremely dangerous, is that he doesn't seem to care about anyone. Also in later years, he seems to like destroying the world which makes him a terrible overall threat. As others had said, if Spike just kills you, Angelus would destroy you psychologically and then kill you. What makes Angelus a dangerous enemy is his cruel intentions. This even carried over in to him becoming a soulled vampire to a degree as noted in "Damage" where his reckless behaviour led to him getting his hands chopped off. So it's not as if he cannot formulate a plan, it's more that he'd rather go out and get his hands dirty. Yeah, Spike is bold, but historically he could be extremely impatient and impulsive to point where he cannot even follow through his own plans. Back in the day, if you threatened Dru, you could get him to back off. This means he's less likely to be as ruthless as say Angelus. More than anything, Spike is adaptable and that has served him reasonably well.Īs seen in "Lie To Me", his weakness is definitely love. She used me and had me killed out of sheer spite in her quest to become the empire’s greatest woman. Yet beneath that glitz and polish, she was simply. He was puzzled as to why Angelus wouldn't capitalize on the many advantages he had over Buffy. Born from a low-ranking noble family, Angela grew to be renowned for her beauty and grace, becoming the prized angel of society, all with my enthusiastic support. ![]() In his later years Spike actually became quite the pragmatist, which makes sense seen as he's a survivor. A link to an external website Angel season 4, episode 11: Soulless submitted by a fan of Angel. Spike: Right about the time you became so pig-headed. Where other vampires fled Slayers, he faced them and the fact that he killed two Slayers and survived the mobs means he's got the skills to back it up.Īngelus: Since when did *you* become so levelheaded? Where other vampires avoided attention, he sought it out. You can say what you like about Spike but one has to admit that the vamp has guts. I suppose I'll do what I normally do and that's analyze the hell out of it and see if I come to some kind of conclusion. As WA alluded, you're comparing two very different enemies. ![]() Wow! This is actually a pretty difficult question. ![]()
